Registration Complete

Who would think that THIS
Could land you HERE??? Well this is a Hall hand AND if it can happen, it will happen at the Hall House!!!
If you know A you know he loves a gadget! Especially a kitchen gadget! I do not use the mandoline (too sharp for me!). A was preparing potatoes for the grill Saturday night and you know a knife just doesn't get the slices even so he had to use the mandoline and I mean it is not cool to use the guard! I joke, but really it was not funny! He cut the end of his finger off. Yes, the entire tip of his finger. As in, a chunk laying there! As in, blood everywhere! As in, I almost fainted. I told him immediately he had to go to the hospital but he did not think that was necessary. So, about 2 hours later when he unwrapped the bandaging we had on it that was soaked with blood it was spewing blood with each beat of his hurt. He then knew he had to go to the ER. He drives himself to the ER and a couple of shots later they cauterize it. Sends chills up my spine thinking about it! He said they could not believe how much of his finger he had cut off. They told him he would be in a lot of pain soon and wrote him a couple for prescriptions for pain meds and told him to immediately go get them so he had to make that 1 hour each way trek to the nearest open pharmacy. Of course he had to preach Sunday morning and thankfully he made it through without too much pain. It has hurt some off and on but much more this afternoon than it has. He looks really pale and I think it is from losing all that blood. This picture was taken today after he had re-bandaged it. I regret I didn't get a picture of the bright purple bandaging they put on at the hospital! I had already gotten him out a purple shirt for Sunday so they got a kick out of him coordinating with his bandage! SO, after only 3 weeks of living here our registration is complete at the local ER and this is why I was insistent that our insurance coverage not lapse for 1 minute in our transition! I know the Hall's!!!

2 posts in 3 days! That's an accomplishment for me lately!

Just a few reasons...

WE LOVE SUMMERTIME!!!

This summer as you can see we are really loving the openness we have here in the country! The girls seem to feel so free to roam (not always a good thing!) Downside is the mosquitos which are HUGE and always being on the lookout for snakes. The wheat is being harvested right now all around our house and we have been told the snakes get worse in yards then because they come out of the fields. The girls are all are getting cute tans and are very tired when bedtime comes!
HAPPY SUMMER!!!

Week/Weekend Review

We are still settling in and trying to adjust to our new lives. A started full time in the office this week. It is really nice yet really strange to have him next door. Lizzie and Millie cried for a few days wanting to go with him. They just couldn't understand why he was going to the church without them. A is loving being able to have the time he needs to study and being able to be out in the community and do some things he has been wanting to do. It is wonderful for me to see this come to be. I have watched him long for this for so long and it is great to see him do what he has such a passion for. We appreciate your prayers as he prioritizes and makes decisions on the direction to take the church. I pray that I am the support he needs. Reality has really set in with the fact that our schedules are dictated by so many things (many of which are last minute) and I think we are learning to go with the flow and adjust our plans when needed.

I think we all love being in the country. The mosquitos are terrible right now so the girls are not getting to enjoy outside as much as we would like. A gopher ate our phone line and it had to be replaced! The skunks here are terrible but no skunk sprayings at our house yet! Everyone asks me all the time how I am dealing with country life. It is funny to me because they all think I am a city girl! If they only knew!!!

Elleigh went with a family in our church to the ball field one night last week and she got to meet some people her age and she enjoyed that and they were really nice to her. The girls have been more "off" this week than they had been. I think the past few weeks caught up with all of us. Millie was really sick with an ear infection for about 5 days so that was another issue. Sallie was supposed to begin therapy last week but there was a mix up and she actually begins next week.

The song "Does Fort Worth Ever Cross your Mind?" has taken on a new meaning! YES, it does! We love it here but the conveniences of Fort Worth cross my mind a lot! I am really trying to adjust to being so far from stores. We have been to Wal-Mart twice and spent lots of money both times but we try to get everything we can while we are there! Our town does have a DG and grocery store but the grocery store in insanely expensive so we try to get all we can when we go to WM.

We love not being on the road on the weekends!!! We have not had a free weekend yet though. Last weeked we had several things going on including a community get together at a neighboring community and Millie was sick. This weekend we had a wedding. We had rehearsal/dinner on Friday night. The dinner was at a lodge at a local ranch and it was so pretty out there. I took my camera but the battery was dead and I did not realize it. I am going to go back out there one day and take some pics. It was a true picture of Texas! The wedding was beautiful and A did a great job. This was his 3rd wedding and he has another next month. I took my camera to the wedding but did not take any pics. I just can't seem to do it when trying to chase the girls and keep them out of everything! Lately that has been more difficult! We made a complete scene in church this morning. Millie would not mind and I was correcting her and she begins screaming "don't take me outside, don't take me outside" and gets in the floor screaming so I am carrying her OUTSIDE and it was a scene! A said everyone was snickering! At least they know that she didn't want to go OUTSIDE!

I did take some pics before we left for the wedding. Several of you have asked for more pics of the house and they are coming! You get a little sneak peak of our living room. With Millie being sick and all of us being completely exhausted this week we have gotten behind but hopefully we will be able to knock some things out this week and I will get some pics ready.

I LOVE THESE 5 PEOPLE SO MUCH! Thank you God for giving them to me!

I just had to include this to aggrevate Ell! Look at that face! Silly pic!
Someone always has to making a silly face!Or not smiling... or not looking at the camera... They are still precious to us!

Decked in my favorite color!
I got in with the girls after they had already taken several and they were tired of it! So, this is the best we got of me with them. Can you tell who was really tired of the picture making?!Now I think this is my new favorite pic of Ell. Just so you know, Elleigh loves to have her pic made (and always has!) and cooperates so that is why there is an individual pic of her.
Hope you all have a great week!

Check it off my list

My life seems to be dictated by lists and blogging has been on the list for a while so now I can check it off my list! This post is a catch up post of several different events.

The Thursday before we moved (and the girls last day at Discovery School) we had Morning with Mom
May 7th our sweet Elleigh became a teenager. We are still trying to allow that to sink in for us! She of course, is having no problem accepting it! The Hall's came to town and helped us celebrate! That night we all had dinner at Saltgrass. She is almost as tall as me!

LOVE these girls! Notice Sallie has on her trial BAHA. We got it the day of Ell's b-day. More to share later on that...

Aunt Ang giving Lizzie a twirl!
Precious Grant with his Daddy!!!

2 cuties!

Being silly

Nanna and Mill
Grandy and Sall

The oldest Hall girl with the youngest Hall girlAfter dinner we came back to our house for cake and punch. Of course there had to be a story! You can tell it too well in this pic but the cake is messed up! The top layer shifted while transporting it to our house. A then tried to move it which really messed up the pink beading. It was cute though and Elleigh loved it. I had a meltdown but then realized it was just cake! It was delicious and that is important!
Uncle Adam with Sallie and Grant Nanna and Grandy with their first grandchild on her 13th b-day. Such a good picture!

Lizzie and Garrett are a pair!Daddy putting on Ell's necklace we got her and Ell being dramatic! This might be my new favorite picture of my Ell Bell (I know, I know I am not supposed to call you that!)
Sat came and MOVING DAY! It all kind of seems like a blur! I did not take as many pics as I should have but I just wasn't with it.

Then Sunday came and it was Ordination Day!

The Hall menA with his mom and dadI really can not believe I am posting this! I had shed WAY too many tears to be having pics made! I never want to forget this day though and don't think I will. It was such a sweet day. A and I both went forward for the laying of the hands and the men and women of the church laid hands and their words and emotion will forever be with us. I am sure Elleigh would like for me to point out that she did not wear the same dress for 3 days and that she does have something else to wear. We had gotten her a dress for Ordination and it got packed in a box that was in the very front of the uhaul and we could not get to it and so this was the only accessible dress...

The rest of our time with the Hall's was spent working on the house and unpacking and the kids spent lots of time playing outside! They had a great time together!
We are very thankful they were here for us during these special events in our lives! We are forever grateful for their help as well. We still have a lot left to do but they were a huge help. I promise next time yall come we will not work you!
We are adjusting! Life here is very different and change is well, just that, change and it is not always easy. We are good but it is just an adjustment. Thank you all for those of you who have checked on us knowing that moving and change is not always easy. It is a huge blessing that we are already familiar with things here. Please continue to pray for us all in this adjustment, for clear direction on our ministry here, for Elleigh especially as she adjusts at a difficult age and prepares for school in a new place, etc. Please pray for God to provide at least one friend for her here with similar values that she can be herself with and not feel pressured to change. Also, another major prayer request is Sallie as she begins therapy with her new therapist on Tues. We will go twice a week and it is an 1 hr drive each way so pray for safety in travels as well. We really hope to be able to do one day a week soon but not sure that will happen any time soon. Thank you for the support you give to us in many ways!

In the midst of chaos!

Total chaos is the best way I know to describe our lives right now. I think this was possibly my longest blog hiatus so before I got even more behind I am stopping to catch up on a few highlights going on in the midst of the chaos. Even this post is chaotic! I couldn't get the pics uploaded in the correct order but this is as good as it gets for now. Nothing else is orderly right now so why should this be?!

Lizzie and Millie had their Spring Art Show at Discovery School. They talked a lot about it and were so anxious to show us what they had made and for us to go with them.

Millie with her sweet teachers Mrs. Sonia and Mrs. Amy. I love being able to take them somewhere that they are loved so much and have a great time!
Lizzie with Mrs. Nancy. They are 2 of a kind! Totally unrelated to anything other than the fact that they are dealing with the chaos really well, I just love this picture of these beautiful girls. I think they actually resemble a little in this picture.
At the top of the chaos list is our house in Red Springs. We are all looking forward to sitting back looking at all our hard work and resting in it, even if only for a short time.

My man working hard as always. More house pics to come once we have settled in. You do get a sneak peak of our dining room walls. I do love this color. It is unusual but I do love it.

Yes, we put ALL of them to work!
Millie's class exhibit
Lizzie's garden project. She is so proud of this grass she grew!Lizzie's class exhibit
My sweet, sweet Mill. She is so shy in a crowd. She made this face the entire time. She was trying not to cry. I thought I was going to have to get her. She would not sing or do any of the motions. It was all she could do not to cry! You can see she is also ringing her dress from being nervous. At one point she rung it a little too high. Thankfully Mrs. Amy was right there to get her to put it down!Lizzie talked and talked about her songs but she too can be very reserved in a crowd and once she got on that stage she was not too into it. Very somber
Elleigh's friends surprised her with a farewell party. We were able to keep it from her which is not easy! Here she is walking in to what she thought was a meeting. Very surprised as you can see! I was so happy for her. Moving at this age can be quite an adjustment and it meant so much to her for her friends to do this.
Such a cute cake and so Elleigh!

I got these pics from the party from Ell's friend. I had planned to be there and ended up having to go unexpectedly to Red Springs. A and Sallie were there and Sallie had gotten sick and we had a tragic death in our church so I had to head over at the last minute. I have asked many of you to pray for this family already. They are the McLarty family and after 5 yrs of trying to conceive she gave birth to their baby girl at 24 weeks gestation and she lived a very short time. Her funeral was last Wednesday. There is just something that feels so unnatural about a casket that small. This had definitely been a challenge in our new ministry. Lots of crying out to God to give us the words to say. A concentrated on the hope we have of our future in Heaven during the funeral and at times like this we have to clinge to that. It sure helped to put things into perspective.

Hope to be back to blogging regularly after we get moved and settled in, or maybe just moved! The Hall's are headed our way on Thursday and we are ready to see them! It will be fun to be together and I know they will be a lot of help. I am bracing for an emotional week. Between the move and all that comes with it and the fact that I will be the mother of a teenager this week I am expecting a few tears (or a lot!) A's ordination is this Sunday as well and his dad is ordaining him. So, some celebrations are to come in the midst of the chaos as well!
