FINISHED!

For those of you who have PRAYED like crazy for us as Elleigh prepared for the TAKS test and took it, first of all THANK YOU and second of all she is FINISHED!!!  Not only did she pass, she made an 86!!!  2 questions away from being commended!  Elleigh is such a smart girl but Math gives her a little trouble and most of all if Elleigh is not great (or near perfect) at something she tends to have little confidence in herself in that area.  She has struggled a lot in Math this year.  The math program here is really tough and Elleigh is in a class full of really strong students which made it even more difficult for her and add to that the fact that she HAD to pass the Math TAKS test to go to the 9th grade and that was a lot of pressure.  MANY tears have been shed over this year and especially over the past few months as the big day approached.  In January she gave up athletics which meant she could not do track which she really wanted to do.  So during that time, she was working on math.  She stayed Mon-Thurs after school until 4 and one day a week we did outside tutoring.  More than any of that we prayed and we prayed over her!  Nanna dreamed that she needed to memorize some verses to pray while she was taking her tests when she began to flip out and so she began doing that.  That was the main issue-because she was not confident in Math, she would flip out when taking a test.  Her tutor said she definitely knew what she was doing, it was getting past the mental part.  SO, all of that to say we are very proud of her because she worked for it!  She has amazing teachers and they helped so much and they are overjoyed that she did it!  Her main math teacher cried…  We thought we would find out today but we found out on Monday which was also a plus.  No more waiting!  She was commended on Reading (which means she made above 90) but she has not been given her score in there yet.  Next wk she takes Soc Studies and Science and she does not really care for science either so she could use some prayers there too.  They only have to pass Math and Reading to promote but their scores in all subjects count as their semester exam grade as well so she still needs to do well.  Yesterday she had a regular math test and made a 92!  Think she is a little more confident?  I think so!

I hesitated to post anything about anything else with this video because it is powerful and today is such an important day and I do not want to minimize that AT ALL but with whatever we may face, though it might not be easy or we may not know the outcome we have hope if we KNOW HIM because of this day.  I love this song by one of our new favorite Christian musicians.  One of the guys who worked for A at the seminary plays in this band.  Wonderful song!

HAPPY GOOD FRIDAY!!!  I pray we do not get lost in the worldliness of Easter and focus on what this day really means to us.
